Respace is a personal tracking and reflection app. You do not need an account, and your journey never leaves your device unless you choose to share or export it.
On your device
Your setup, start date, spending rates, moments and their labels, feelings, savings goal, reminder choices and milestone acknowledgements are stored in the app's protected local storage. Respace does not upload your journey, offer cloud sync, or use HealthKit. Device backups managed by Apple may include app data under your backup settings. You can edit your setup, remove accidental logs, remove a goal and turn off reminders in the app. Settings → Erase my journey deletes everything Respace stores on this device and resets its analytics identifier; deleting the app also removes its local journey.
Purchases
Apple handles payments, refunds and purchase restoration. RevenueCat manages subscription and lifetime entitlements using an anonymous app-user identifier, product identifiers and transaction information. Respace never receives your payment-card details. Purchase information is processed under Apple's and RevenueCat's respective privacy policies.
Usage analytics
Usage analytics are off unless you switch them on — Respace asks once, at the end of setup, with the switch off, and you can change it any time in Settings → Share anonymous usage. Until you do, no analytics are sent and the analytics library is not even started. If you switch it on, PostHog (EU hosting) receives pseudonymous usage events so we can understand where the app helps and where it gets in the way. Events contain action names (for example: onboarding finished, paywall shown, purchase, milestone reached, craving session finished, export prepared), whether you have Pro, days since installation, a broad spending band, and technical details the analytics library adds: device model, iOS version, app version, language, time zone and network type. IP addresses are not stored and no location is derived from them. We never send your moments or when they happened, your spending amounts, goal names, trigger labels, feelings or any text you type. There are no advertising identifiers, advertising trackers, session recordings or screen replays.
You can switch analytics off again at any time. Events are tied to a random identifier, not to your name or Apple Account; Erase my journey also resets that identifier. Because there is no account, we may be unable to match past events to you — if you ask us to delete them, include the approximate dates you used the app.
Widgets and local notifications
The app and its widget share an on-device snapshot containing your journey start, current space, estimated savings, spending rate, currency and Pro status. Personal moment labels are never included. Optional reminders use iOS local notifications with discreet wording and no sound; there is no notification server or remote push. Notification permission is requested only when you choose to enable reminders and can be changed in iPhone Settings.
Sharing, exports and links
Nothing is shared until you pick a destination in the iOS share sheet. The share card leaves out what you are quitting by default. Exports can include dates, triggers and feelings; the temporary export file is deleted as soon as the share sheet closes. Your chosen destination handles a shared file under its own policies. Source and publisher links open a website only when you tap them.
Ratings and general context
Apple handles any App Store rating or review you choose to submit. Respace may show Apple's rating prompt after a milestone or a finished craving session, never after you log a slip. Health-timeline content is general, sourced context — not medical advice, a diagnosis or a prediction of your recovery. A doctor, pharmacist or quitline can help you with a quit plan.
Children
Respace is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Your rights and changes
You can ask us about, or ask us to delete, data we hold at support@devrootsi.com. If you are in the EU/EEA you may also complain to your data protection authority (in Estonia: Andmekaitse Inspektsioon). We will update the effective date above when this policy changes.
